Sweet as a pint of Guiness

My roommate recently realized that how lucky Irish are: their National Day is celebrated in lots of country actually. Funny though, I recently read that traditionally, in Ireland, St. Patrick is devoted to go to church and spend time with your family. In America, it’s an occasion for a huge party in the streets of the cities and for everybody to get drunk… Well, whatever, to me, an occasion to party is always a great reason to party, and when it comes to Irish and drinking habits, I’m be glad to be there!

Another proof of the integration of Irish culture in America, the birth of bands like Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys, which I love though. They makes me feel like I’ve got some of their culture deep inside, or maybe I’m just wishing to, but it would explain my drinking habits 😀 Their musical culture have, in facts, some common points with ours (the French Canadian one), which are reflected in our traditional music. Even if living hard times, our songs we’re about enjoying life’s gifts, don’t worrying too much, hope, parties and alcohol. We knew that whatever could happen, there always was a place to get drunk with good friends and family and enjoy ourselves. Today’s the perfect occasion to post a few of my favorites song of them. St. Partick is a occasion for everybody to release the little Irish in them, and I will. Happy St. Patrick’s day folks!
